Welcome to the 25th scenecompo!
We are finally back with another compo. Sorry that the 1 hour compo didn't happen yet - but we still have to figure out some minor details for that one.
Now, we have July already and it is time for the "changeling compo"!
Your task is to pick a scene-tune and remix that tune in a different genre. That's right: you pick the tune and you remix it, but in a different genre.
So let's be a bit more specific shall we:
"A music genre is a conventional category that identifies pieces of music as belonging to a shared tradition or set of conventions"

- write a remix of a scene tune and change the genre - think twice if you plan to remix a chiptune with a c64
- timelimit: 10 minutes
- multiple entries per user

- upload your tune as flac(!)

It's my favourite song of all time:) However I would rather see it in different style, more similar to the original. 		Artist Comment: An 'Electro Ska' take on the classic demo, lft - Craft. Artist Production Notes: FL Studio as DAW, blend of Ska samples and some classic electro synths. Started working on this a few hours before the deadline and just about scraped something together in time. 5 by AMcBain Wow. I don't know what the original was, but this is very nice. The parts with less bass and but still the trumpet remind me kind of Streetlight Manifest / Ska. I don't know if that was the intention, but please don't take that comparison as a bad thing as I think it works in its favor (in my case)! 5 by Mystra Awesome remix of an awesome tune! 4 by anni ery cool instrumental setup. In some parts it lacks a bit of "Inspiration" (bit too repetitive). but still a solid 4 for me with a light tendency towards 5 :) (5 stars on necta) 4 by yeep - 4 by Serpent Very hard to figure out the original. But yeah, fits with the compo rules. Quite interesting work, although the original could be more recognizable. 4 by Spiral - 4 by silok Supi arrangement and Top sounding... 4 by Danger - 4 by phrank Spacejam! Piano is cool, too. But, seriously, next time try to use some other lead sample. I think I've heard NES-leads too often in your tunes, it's not funny anymore. ;-) The piano part especially is superb! 		Artist Comment: 70s Progrock cover of Hawkeye titlesong, some chiptune elements aswell. Artist Production Notes: Made in Renoise with 43 voices. I used some particular 70s sound plugins like AZR3, Crazy Diamonds and Elec7ro-II. 5 by minus - 5 by Danger However I ranked 5 two more songs, this is my personal winner. It has some parts I would skip, but the the rest is just EPIC! 5 by ViThor - 4 by Rapture Really nice guitar work. :) 4 by yeep - 4 by silok soundqualy is abit to muddy and its not specially a scenetune. But cool Guitar play and the second part is very sweet. 4 by Mystra Great guitar work! However, I like the piano/bass-part best. 4 by phrank - 4 by NerdN 3/4, boring. 4 by Phlubby_Gnome that I 3 by AMcBain I think I recognize the original, not that I could tell you the name of it. Not another generic heavy remix of Hawkeye..." Minus points for not creating unique stuff. 0 by Triton My own song, yeah the mixing is strange... I tried to stay true to the original and make a 70s epic rocksong from it. I have to say it was fun to make this, one of my favourite SIDs of all time :)

		Artist Comment: Jeroen Kimmel's - Think Twice III - Mad and Weirdo Trance version. Sorry for the 3rd Upload... -.- like usually. I hav still probs with the Arp Part and to setting up the synth for that. But thats how it is now. An own version. Artist Production Notes: Jeskola Buzz and alot of Vst Plugs. 5 by yeep - 5 by Danger Excellent performance! 5 by NerdN Dunno exactly what it is, but this became a favorite for me early. Lacks some finish, but quite enjoyable. Love the bass coming in. Nice dance/trance touch. Creates a very interesting mood. 4 by Rapture - 4 by phrank - 4 by Triton I like it, it's somewhat daring to remix this SID as trance, but well done, good mood & sounds. 4 by ViThor - 3 by minus - 3 by moellpauk - 3 by anni arps are out of tune, slightly too low (can be heard best in beginning with piano) -.- Besides that, nice untz! (4 stars on necta) 3 by Spiral - 3 by cxw - 3 by Mystra Creative remix. Not my favourite style though. I like the quieter parts best. 3 by Phlubby_Gnome the originals 3 by lemonade I can hear something similar to my style here. Maybe it's just the samples. Dunno, anyways, if I'd get to choose. I'd mix the voices differently. The lead should stand up and the background (especially the bass & bassdrum) should be more in the background. Now it sounds too chaotic. 2 by AMcBain Repetitive. Wasn't too fond of the loud bit that started at the beginning and went through to the entire song. Sorry man. No idea what the original tune was. 2 by Serpent Easy to recognize, which is kind of plus in this compo. Wrong notes in it, dunno if intentional or not, but i would have liked the original notes just with new music style. Style is changed, as was supposed to. Hmm.. Not really hitting the right buttons this time, sorry 2 by Buzzer Familiar tune for me, chords & melody goes little bit too strange for my taste 2 by malodorous101 The melody is almost inaudible for most of the track, not sure if this is just my setup but I only recognised the tune from the arps which are almost the same as the original 0 by silok 100 Stars :p no. Soundquality is abit to mud and mainly the Arp isnt like original BOOOOH :p

Tune not recognized; probably will happen a lot for me. 3 by Rapture - 3 by moellpauk - 3 by yeep - 3 by Mystra Creative remix. However, the instrument selection could be better (or are they original instruments maybe?). One of the synths has so much vibrato that it sounds out of tune. 3 by malodorous101 Much more energetic than the source 3 by Triton Sounds like this is a mod with the stereo seperation and lo-fi samples, typical Amiga sound :) 3 by NerdN One instrument (the first appearing) is a bit sour/annoying. 3 by Phlubby_Gnome compared with 2 by anni oldskool remix of oldskool track (3 stars on necta) 2 by Serpent Original (if this really is Odyssey - Part 5) also has that doskpop part at the end, so the remix is not that original. Not bad doskpopping at all, too bad with that one offtune lead sound, it's quite horrible to listen..
